Todd’s Botanics is a small family-run business. A full-service design, planting and maintenance business and online mail order. They felt they needed a rebrand to reflect the nature of their work going forward. The leaf of a Tetrapanax papyrifer ‘Rex' featured in their previous identity and it was an element the client wanted to retain — it’s an unusual, leafy, structurally strong, and mainly herbaceous plant, which bridges the range of plants available from Todd's Botanics (ferns, palms, olives etc.).
I created a stencilled lettering based on an existing font for the wordmark and redrew the 'Rex' in a simple outline style to match. Taking inspiration from botany I created a set of sun prints from plants that Todd's Botanics sell and made them into duotones, which then are used in various applications.
