Thames Festival / Identity & Campaign
The Mayor’s Thames Festival was a 2 day festival along the River Thames in London with lots of events happening throughout the weekend.
In 2009 we re-branded their identity and campaign for the Thames Festival and Rivers of the World. The concept for the logo came from the ‘you are here’ dots that indicated all the events that the Thames Festival organised. I worked on the whole campaign for the years 2009, 2010 and 2011 – this involved posters, banners, signage, invites, programmes, catalogues, booklets, stationery, t-shirts, bags, marquee tents, hoarding, certificates, postcards and many other items.
The poster needed to use their existing photography from the past festivals and had to convey the fun, energetic, end-of-summer ambience and a friendly, welcoming, positive atmosphere. For two years we created a collage and in 2011 we chose four strong abstract photographs to create a series of posters and applied a lomography style effect to bring out the warm ambience.
